E-Logistics & International Supply Chain Management Originally logistics was a military term ascertaining the date of Napoleonic Wars which concerns the method of moving or quartering armed forces.According to NATO, the logistics in a military meaning is the science of planning and carrying out the movement and maintenance of forces. In its most complete meaning of the characteristics of military activities which considers: design and development, acquisition, storage, transport, distribution maintenance, evacuation and disposition of material; purchase or construction, preservation, activitiesand disposal of facilities; transport of workers; purchase or supply of service; and health and medical support. Non-military implementations of logistics, still consider the same basis. As specified by Crompton and Jessop (2001), logistics is the technique of managing both the transportation and storage of materials and goods from the point of origin to the point of utilization and the related datacirculation. In current years there has been a growing acknowledgement that the methods whereby customer requirements are satisfied are of critical significance to any company. These methods are the aims whereby items are developed, produced and provided to consumers and through which the ongoing service requirements of those consumers are met. The logistic notion is the gist that links thesecritical methods and supplies the foundations for the design of techniques that will cost-effectively provide value to consumers. Going hand in hand with this identification, the significance of the method has been a basic move in the subject of the business towards the marketplace and away from the more inside adapted production and sales mentality that formerly controlled most industries. Thisalteration in orientation has involved an analysis of the means whereby consumer requirement is fulfilled, for this reason the considerable increase in logistic as an essence business activity. The economy decline in numerous markets, amalgamated with recently developed sources of competition, has increased the awareness of consumers towards value. Nowadays, the concept of value does not just E-Logistics & International Supply Chain Management value for money, in spite of the fact that it is unquestionably a vital element of invest for many customers; it also signifies perceived benefits. Consumers are increasingly demanding items with attached value., but at lower cost, as a result the new competitive imperative is to search for methods to attain exactly that. One of the pioneers tohighlight the need for companies to understand this was Michael Porter (1980-1985). He argues that competitive triumph could only come using cost-leadership or providing clearly distinguished goods or services. From his point of view, the company should try to become either a distinguished supplier or low-cost manufacturer. Nevertheless, in fact it is not enough to compete exclusively on thefundaments of being the lowest-cost supplier. The consequence of this is that a rival has to compete on price. Competing uniquely in terms of price will solely fortify the consumer’s view that the item is an article, something that companies try to avoid. In other way, a strategy found on differentiation will make it conceivable to rival on grounds rather than price. While value for money will normally bea matter, the purpose is to increase the consumer’s appreciation of the values they are obtaining and as a consequence, their desire will be to pay a higher price. Companies produce value for their consumers either by decreasing the consumers’ cost or increasing the degree of benefit they provide.
