Film Review: I’m here, Spike Jonze
The ingenious film I’m here was written and directed by Spike Jonze in 2010 based on The Given Tree, a 1964 children’s book written and illustrated by ShelSilverstein, which’s name is given to the main character of the film. Perfectly starred by Andrew Garfield (Sheldon) and Sienna Guillory (Francesca) on a 30 minutes science-fiction romance shoot, which wasproduced by Vincent Landay, and edited by Stephen Berger and Eric Zumbrunnen. The cinematography was in charge of Adam Kimmel and the music score was wrote by Sam Spiegel, although music from theband Sleigh Bells was prominently featured.  Moreover, the film was funded by and is a promotion for Absolut Vodka, featuring the tagline A Love Story in an Absolut World on the poster. I’m here waspremiered at Sundance Film Festival on January 21, 2010, captivating the public’s heart because combines the elements of a classic love story together with an overarching theme of the power of giving andsharing.
The film is a love story about two robots living in a Los Angeles where humans and robots coexist. Sheldon, with a humanoid physique, but he’s made of plastic and wiring, and his headresembles an upside down PC modem, rides the bus home from work in Los Angeles. Once at home he greeted his neighbors, who were charging themselves and their look was quite depressing. Next dayeverything was brighter, he saw Francesca, a lady robot, full of happiness, laughing and singing, driving a car. Sheldon saw the lady once more driving a car, but this time full of passengers, and sheconvinced him to let her give him a ride home. Sheldon and his new friends end up hanging out in a parking lot of a mall. Francesca and Sheldon walked off together, and she falls, injuring her knee.Sheldon repaired her knee, and after that they started dating. One night, at a night club, Francesca lost her arm while she was dancing, and Sheldon, very gently replaced the arm with his arm. Other day...
