Minimum System Requirements
The minimum system requirements for OmniPage SE are:
• • •iMac, iBook, PowerBook, Power Macintosh or PowerPC compatible computers with at least a G3 processor Mac OS 9.1 or later, Mac OS X (10.1 or above) and QuickTime 4.1 or later 128 MB of memory (RAM) on Mac OS X; 64MB on Mac OS 9 with 32 MB allocated to OmniPage SE (or 64 MB allocated to handle full-page color images with more than 256 colors) 80 to 100 MB of free hard disk space A color monitor with atleast 256 colors and 800x600 pixel resolution A Macintosh-compatible pointing device A supported and correctly installed scanner, if you plan to scan documents

Installation
The OmniPage SE User's Guide provides information about installing and setting up OmniPage SE. Please refer to it for complete installation instructions. Install Your Scanner Before You Install OmniPage SE. Yourscanner must be working independently of OmniPage SE prior to connecting it to OmniPage SE. Scanners that use OmniPage SE should be installed according to the scanner manufacturer’s specifications. Please

consult the documentation that came with your scanner for information. We recommend that you turn on your scanner before you turn on your Macintosh. Please also refer to the additionalinformation about scanners in these Release Notes. Before You Install OmniPage SE, exit from any open applications . Install OmniPage SE. Use the following procedure to install this version:

Insert the OmniPage SE CD in the CD-ROM drive. Double-click OmniPage SE Setup. Select a language and then click Continue. This language will be used for installation and also as the program’sinterface language. Read the license agreement. If you click I Agree, you can continue installation. Follow the on-screen instructions

Register OmniPage SE. At the end of installation, you will be asked to fill out an electronic form to register your copy of OmniPage SE. Please refer to the OmniPage SE User’s Guide for more information on registration. OmniPage SE and OmniPage SE’s earlierversions. If you have an earlier version of OmniPage SE on your computer you can keep it by installing your new version to a different location.

General Application Notes
This section discusses a number of points related to using features in OmniPage SE. OmniPage SE User’s Guide • The OmniPage SE User’s Guide is available in PDF format. You can read and search documents in PDF format in AdobeAcrobat Reader 3.0 or higher. Access the User’s Guide by selecting the User’s Guide PDF file in the OmniPage SE:User’s Guide folder.

General Technical Notes
OmniPage SE Setup does not start • This may happen because of an extension conflict. Please try disabling all extensions including base extensions before launching Setup. After the installation you can re-enable the extensions. If you disableall extensions including Base extensions – you will lose CD-Rom support and other features. If registration does not start at the end of installing OmniPage SE • This happens if you install OmniPage SE on a computer on which an Internet connection has not yet been established. You can register OmniPage SE at another time.
