Chapter 7 The years of conflict

Ok so lets keep this simple, things to focus on?

• Reasons for Europeans making their colonies in the Americas.

• Understand how history is recorded• 1776(declaration of independence)-13 colonies will declare themselves free & independent

MUST KNOW- Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of independence.

French/Indian war 1754-1763The colonies did not unite…

1. 1754, French build fort after fort

2. George Washington for Virginia, goes to talk to the French. French are gentlemen, they’ll drink wine and talk much. They say that they will go ahead and claim territory.

3. G.W will go to Ohio with a force & find that the French had a fort there.

4. George will attack the fort and its beaten easily.Later the French build Fort Necessity, but quickly they beat G.W ‘cuz they were outnumbered.

5. Later he is permitted to return to Virginia, prepares for more campaigns. The colonies did not want tounite as one during French/Indian war. The colonies only fought for their own interest….SSOoooo….

My old buddy XD Ben Franklin, will suggest to the 13 colonies a Union, with that heintroduced the Albany Plan so that all to fight against French. In the end, the plan was refused.

1775 Virginia (V.G) Governor asks English for help.1400 British troops to drive the French away fromthe Ohio Valley.

G.W wanted a higher rank, but the British would give him none. Later on his brother died and he must b in the plantation to take care of business.

General Braddockwill not give G.W rank but in the end, he still goes to battle. George will arrive at Fort Duquesne to prove he deserves rank and will show what he could do. (British get beaten badly) Gnrl. Braddockwas killed in this battle.

Now if u want to go into more detail…
