The Smart Charles Van Doren
Charles Van Doren in the movie, Quiz Show is a man with a good economic life, working as aprofessor in the University of Columbia, and son of one of the most valuable professors of English in that university. He was invited by the popular program produced by the radio and television NBC, QuizShow, being an important and smart professor in the university. This show was about a popular contest in which two smart people were invited to participate to measure their intellect answering 21questions about different categories and themes, winning a lot quantity of money. Charles Van Doren was invited to the show the day when Herbert Stempel, another smart contestant like Charles Van Doren, failsto answer his last question to win again the show by the fault of the producers of the show Dan Enright & Albert Freedman. They talked with Stempel before the show began, to fail the lastquestion to win the competition again. When Stempel fail and Van Doren became the new smart guy of the show by weeks answering all the, answer were easy or hard ones. Over time, Dick Goodwin, a lawyer forCongressional subcommittee, tried to find the answer why Stempel fail his last question if he was a really smart guy, and why Van Doren all the time he went to the show, he won. So Stempel complaint infront of the court, that the contest was rigged and the participants, including Van Doren, knew the questions they would be asked during the show, creating a scandal. Charles Van Doren should be heldaccountable for his actions because he declare that he had a deal with the producers Enright & Freedman winning the show making popularity, he fail himself and fooled all the people who followedhim in the program, and he didn’t accept that the producer give him the answers of the questions.
