Bullying
For a long time aggressions have been occurring in school, but there is a new term for this violence, and it is: Bullying.
Is incredible that the society needs to put a name for a special kind of violence, instead of naming it, society should be avoiding it, that’s the reason why I choose it as the topic for my research paper. With this I want to show that bullying affects lots ofpeople, and no directly to the victim “Every seven minutes a child is bullied”, “100, 000 students carry a gun to school”, “one of every four kids is bullied” (Think Quest, n.p.). Don’t you think that this should be stopped?, no one deserves or should bully or be bullied in school, or in their way to it.
Most of bullies’ kids are aggressive because they have been victims of violence. So, howare we going to stop this violence if when someone is bullied, in a future they will become bullies themselves?
The first step to finish with something, is getting to know it, so, for that in this research paper I will try to explain all the readers what is bullying and the consequences for each person that participates in this aggressions, besides I am adding a special chapter to demonstratethat bullies have been victims of violence, what have make them act in the way they do.

Bullying: not a simple thing
“Many people think that bullying is a normal part of childhood or those kids will be kids. However, research shows that in fact, bullying can cause negative academic, physical, social, emotional, and psychological consequences on victims, bullies, and witnesses. Theseconsequences can be short-term or long-term. Bullying can also greatly affect the overall climate of a school.” (Think quest, n.p.)
Bullying is a form of harassment or physical, psychological or verbal abuse produced between classmates or school. Normally this harassment takes place on school grounds and is played by a victim and an aggressor, often kids across adolescence, between twelve and thirteenyears (Fuertes).
This violence is characterized by intimidation of a person (in this case the victim), implying an abuse of power exercised by someone stronger (the aggressor). The victim is exposed physically  and emotionally to the bully, taking as a result several psychological consequences, thus making the hunted live in fear of attending school, and that when the victim is on it(school), is usually sad, nervous, or not wanting to go out to recess (Beane).
In some cases, this abuse can cause in the victim a mentality of suicide and sometimes the abuse to others, being now them the aggressors (Medina).
“There are different types of offenders: confidents, which are those who intimidate others, enjoying it as they do the act and feel safe all the time; others are anxious they do notconcentrate on what they do, and feel insecure while performing the abuse” (Aragón, n.p).
The last ones (eager bullies) are those who were once victims, and are not sure of what they are doing, because they have already been in the position of their victims, so it can be said that they are more noble when abusing.
There exist several characteristics, which can define bullying. Allan L. Beanedescribes some of the most important of the list:
- The aggression can be physical, verbal or relational.
- There is an imbalance (abuse) of power.
- No provocation by the victim.
- This is repeated occurrences over a period of time.
- There is intent on the part of assailant.
- Stay hidden, secret or unknown to adults.
- Usually includes behaviors of various natures (teasing, threats, aggression, isolation, etc.).
- It is usually caused by a student, supported by a group against a victim who is defenseless.
- Stays out of ignorance or passivity of the people around the aggressors.
- Victims develop a fear and rejection of the context in which suffers such violence.
- Decreases the capacity of moral understanding and empathy of the abuser, while there is a reinforcement of...
