WHAT IS IT?
Water scarcity is a phenomenon not only naturalbut also caused by human action. There is enough water on the planet to supply some 6,000 million people, but it is distributed unevenly, wasted, is polluted and unsustainably managed.
Water scarcityis one of the main challenges of the twenty-first century and they are facing many societies around the world. Throughout the last century, water use and consumption grew at twice the rate ofpopulation growth and, although we cannot speak of a global water shortage, is increasing the number of regions with chronic levels of water shortages.
