Human Rights hand in hand with people reality
When the theme of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights or UDHR is intent to be related to the way of life of people of this world, a big questioncomes to the fore. Are those human rights really applied universally? History strongly tried to answer that question back in 1948, when the General Assembly of the United Nations joined together andmade the decision to proclaim the UDHR as an attempt to stop any possibility to repeat the atrocities of the World War II, like the Holocaust caused by Adolf Hitler, just to give an example of the mostknown massacre of those times.
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights it is a document adopted by the United Nations in 1948 at Paris. This declaration contains a small preamble where it describesthe basis of the whole document and the position of the United Nations about it. Also, it holds thirty articles that name and define all the inherently rights that every human has. The UDHR serves asa coexistence human guide, providing all the basics and limits for people of countries that signed it and who should be following it in their everyday life. Nonetheless, it is not a universal law andit cannot be imposed as it to any government or individual; therefore, it has not achieved its function of being a living and a governing principle in this society.
Of the thirty articles the UDHRhas, article 1 is the most relevant of all of them, because it affirmed, “All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights…” This quote, in the hand of a proper interpretation , couldsummarize the whole document, because it defines the universal meaning and intention of the declaration itself. This particular article was prepared to point out the giant mistakes in the Holocaust andWorld War II, where everybody was judged with a total inequality, simply base on their race or nationality.
