Economy
The economy of laos is rapidly growing, as it began to decentralise control and encouraged private enterprise in 1986. It opened a stock exchange in 2011, and has become an arising regionalplayer in its role as a hydroelectric power supplier to neighbors such as china, vietnam and thailand. Although the country remains one of the poorest countries in South-East Asia.A landlocked country, it has inadequate infrastructure and a largely unskilled work force. The country's per capita income in 2009 was estimated to be $2,300 on a purchasing power parity-basis.
ClimateThe climate is tropical, but there are large variations
temperature between different areas, mainly because
altitude. The main features of climate are
determined by the monsoons. In the capital, in April(the hottest month of the year), temperaturesaverage about 28.9 ° C, while in January are 21.7 ° C.
Landscape
Laos' landscape is characterized by precipitous mountains; long, fertile floodplains, and lastly,high plateaus. The mountains are found all throughout Laos but are mainly in the northern part of the country as are three main plateaus which are found in the north, central and southern sections ofthe country.
Laos Cuisine
Lao cuisine is the cuisine of Laos, which is distinct from other Southeast Asian cuisines. The typical Lao stove, or brazier, is called a tao-lo and is fueled by charcoal.It is shaped like a bucket, with room for a single pot or pan to sit on top. Grilling, boiling, stewing, steaming, searing and mixing (as in salads) are all traditional cooking methods.
Dressmostly, usually dressed in a garment called "sari"
both special occasions and in everyday life
(changing saree model only). That of
important occasions will be more "class" issay, more elegant, more decorations or embroidery
and a fabric made of better quality.
Some wear shields on the nose, bracelets on
ankles and even rings in deos feet.
