ABSTRACT
Lucid deaming is the ability to realize you’re dreaming while you are still in the dream. Dr. Stephen LaBerge from Stanford University is psychophysiologist and a leader inthe scientific study of lucid dreaming. His researches have given very interesting and relevant results, including multiple techniques and methods to reach the lucidity.
In this research I’m going to prove if LaBerge’s methods work; I believe that LaBerge's methods to get a lucid dream actually work and everyone can get one even if they never had one or never have even heard of it.
To prove theeffectiveness of these methods a Field Research was conducted which consisted on volunteers who accepted to try LaBerge’s methods. These volunteers were divided into 5 groups, one of them is the control group and the other 4 are different methods, they tried specific methods during 3 weeks and answered a set of parameters; after analyzing and comparing the results I drew the conclusion thatLaBerge’s methods to get a lucid dream work, each one of the methods has a different effectiveness level, and I realized that if all the methods are tried together the results are higher than the methods used in a separated way.

Lucid dreaming means dreaming while knowing that you are dreaming. The term was coined by Frederik van Eeden who used the word "lucid" in the sense of mental clarity. Lucidityusually begins in the midst of a dream when the dreamer realizes that the experience is not occurring in physical reality, but is a dream. Often this realization is triggered by the dreamer noticing some impossible or unlikely occurrence in the dream, such as flying or meeting the deceased. Sometimes people become lucid without noticing any particular clue in the dream; they just suddenly realizethey are in a dream. A minority of lucid dreams (according to the research of LaBerge and colleagues, about 10 percent) are the result of returning to sleep directly from an awakening with unbroken reflective consciousness.
Can everyone have a lucid dream? It is said that the skill of lucid dreaming can be developed, however there are some people who are born with this skill. There are sometechniques to learn how to develop lucid dreaming. In this research I'm willing to prove if those techniques and skills are real.
Not everyone has had a lucid dream, and most people don't know how to control it. Anyways the lucid dreaming skills are not supposed to be limited to anyone so theoretically someone who has never even heard about lucid dreams should be able to get them eventually.
Dr.LaBerge from Stanford University is a psychophysiologist and a leader in the scientific study of lucid dreaming. His researches have given very interesting and relevant results; these are the main results of his work:
* Comparison of subjective sense of time in dreams versus the waking state using eye signals
* Comparison of electrical activity in the brain when singing while awake, and whilein a dream
* Various studies comparing physiological sexual arousal and in-dream sex, and most interestingly, orgasm.
What I'm expecting with this research is to know if everyone can actually develop lucid dreaming even if you have never had one or even heard about it by using Dr. Laberge's methods.
To completely understand LaBerge's methods and prove these methods work, I'm going toconduct a Field Research. The Field Research that will be conducted will consist on volunteers who are willing to try LaBerge's methods; I will check their responses to these methods and compare them with the expected results. Theoretically everyone should be able to have a lucid dream if the methods are done in the right way, so with this experiment I'll be able to check in a very close way to the...
