How to Enhance Oral Skills Through Learning Styles?

THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK
BackgroundsThis section covers aspects such as: definition of the skill, learning styles and strategies as well as their relevance, authors and research projects that have dealt with the topic that this groupattempts to approach.
Some authors have defined the oral skills such as: Krashen (1987), he has stated that THE LANGUAGE IS BETTER ACQUIRED by USING oral skills contemplating each learning style. on theother hand, Halliday (1978, p. 169) explains that oral skills are more than merely an exchange of words between parties; it is a “…sociological encounter” and through exchange of meanings in thecommunication process, social reality is “created, maintained and modified”
For a successful communication, students require more than the formal ability to present well and a range of formulaicexpressions. Bizzell, (1989).However, many researches have been undergone in order to approach to the enhancement of oral skills through learning styles. The first research taken under consideration isthe one undergone by Besser (2002) this research concerns with factors affecting norming: a developmental study of oral language measures in Spanish-speaking English language learners; this researchwas focused on measuring the capability of the Latino population in quest of the appropriate norming variables regarding to the language skills, in order to determine a norming method, which can besuitable for every single Latino in the EE.UU.
Participants were typically developing kindergarten to second grade Spanish speaking ELLs enrolled in transitional bilingual programs. A total of 605children were exposed to series of exercises in order to look for weaknesses in their language skills.
