The company Ericsson was created by Lars Magnus Ericsson in 1876 thanks to the opening of store specialized in the repairing of telegraphic equipments. In 1878 Ericssonmade and sold their own telephone equipment. In the 1890s the Swedish market seemed to be at saturation that’s why Ericsson tries to expand in other markets as Britain and Russia. In the 1960sEricsson was one of the first in the world to create a Hands free speaker phones. The reputation of Ericsson is based on the high quality of their products. Since 2000, Ericsson was collaborating WithMotorola and Nokia to develop standards for the security of electronic transactions over mobile devices.

The company is specialized in telecommunications. The Headquarter of Ericsson islocated in Stockholm. Ericsson employed in 2009 82,500 employees. The turnover of the company was to 4.9 billion Euros and the profits were to 281 million Euros. The activity of Ericsson Intelecommunications is divided in 3 parts: Business Unit Networks, Business Unit Global services and Business Unit Multimedia. The first activity consists in the networks for mobile and fixed public Telephonenetworks. The second activity consists in things about professional networks and the last is specialized in all the applications which are available for multimedia use. Ericsson is based in 140 countries allaround the world. Ericsson owns 1000 networks and 40% of the communications will pass thanks to Ericsson. It is very important for Ericsson to stay on the top of telecommunications, for expel theyhave 16000 patents deposed inside the world.
