¿Cuáles son los modelos sobre el origen de la humanidad y la población del nuevo mundo?
Actualmente hay dos modelos propuestos parainterpretar el origen de la expansión del homo sapiens;
Uno es el modelo del candelabro o hipótesis multirregional, basado en un origen del hombre a partir de tres grupos poblacionales. Sostiene que hace un millón de años, regiones de Europa, Asia y África estaban poblados por antepasados del hombre actual (homo herectus) y que, en cada una de estas zonas la evolución determinó el surgimiento delhomo sapiens. Pero las características comunes de los distintos grupos humanos de de esas regiones quedarían explicadas por las migraciones que se producían entre ellos.
