“Goodfellas” is one of the best gangster film’s I’ve ever seen. It is based on a true story, which makes it really interesting, it convinces us about realism. It has an amazing plotwith excellent charismatic characters. The film’s music is perfectly picked; it fits really well in the genre of the film. Combining these and more effects Scorsese manages to make a great master piecefilm as this one. Goodfellas is a violent film, but is not as the rest of the gangster films. Scorsese hasn’t made a movie just focused on killing, but he has also included characters life; friendship,love, family…all surrounded by action and crimes.

The story opens by introducing Henry, the protagonist of this film. This movie takes place from about 1950’s to 1970’s. Henry Hill thought thatbecoming a member of the mob looked like one of the coolest employment opportunities. "As far back as I can remember," Henry said, "I wanted to be a gangster." He thought about a gangster life ashaving everything: friends, girls, cars, money, and, most importantly, respect. "Being a gangster was better than being the President of the United States." Henry really tries to achieve his goal and soonstarts working for the brother of Paul Cicero, the neighborhood boss. He loved having that life, he felt he was treated as a grown up, making more money than most of the adults in the neighbourhood athis about thirteen years old.

Henry with the time achieves a position of some importance in the organization. He and his two closest associates, Tommy DeVito and Jimmy Conway, started to getinvolved in areas that weren’t approved by everyone in the gang, things as drug dealing. Henry, married to a nice Jewish girl named Karen, which it later leads to a more uncontrolled life which results inbecoming involved in Tommy's murder of a "made" mobster, and spending a term in jail. Once Henry returns to the outside world, he becomes aware that old friends are shifting and that his life may be...
