Verbo + "that clauses"
Estos verbos expresan la intención del hablante:
Direct Speech (Estilo directo)
Reported Speech (Estilo indirecto)
He said, "All right! I'll talk to them."
(Él dijo:"Está bien, hablaré con ellos.")
He agreed that he would talk to them.
(Él estuvo de acuerdo en que hablaría con ellos. )
He said, "I'm sure I've lost it."
(Él dijo: "Estoy seguro de que lo heperdido.")
He claimed that he had lost it.
(Él aseguró que lo había perdido.)
He said, "It's too hot in here."
(Él dijo: "Hace demasiado calor aquí dentro.")
He complained that it was too hot inthere.
(Él se quejó de que hacía demasiado calor allí dentro.)
He said, "I can't go because I've got a meeting."
(Él dijo: "No puedo ir porque tengo una reunión.")
He explained that he couldn't gobecause he had a meeting.
(Él explicó que no podía ir porque tenía una reunión.)
He said, "I'll learn it, I promise."
(Él dijo: "Lo aprenderé, lo prometo.")
He promised that he would learn it.(Él prometió que lo aprendería.)
He said to us, "Don't forget that you have to finish early."
(Él nos dijo: "No olvidéis que tenéis que acabar temprano.")
He reminded us that we had to finish early.
(Élnos recordó que teníamos que acabar temprano.)
He said to them, "I'm busy."
(Él les dijo: "Estoy ocupado.")
He replied to them that he was busy. 
(Él les contestó que estaba ocupado.)
He said toher, "There's a diversion ahead."
(Él le dijo: "Hay un desvío más adelante.")
He warned her that there was a diversion ahead. 
(Él le avisó de que había un desvío más adelante.)
 
Verbo + objeto +(not) to + infintivo
Además de "tell" y "ask", ya vistos, tienen esta estructura los siguientes verbos:
