Bridge to Insanity


I was awakened by the sound of screaming in the distance. I was terrified. I tried to shake it off, but the screaming got louder and louder. I looked outside to see what was happening, but there was nothing there. I woke my parents to see if they had heard anything. But nothing. They all thought I was making it up, but Iknow I heard it. And for that night I couldn’t sleep at all. It was a living nightmare.
Two nights after I heard the screaming I heard it again. I walked into the bathroom to splash some water on my face to shake it off, but when I looked in the mirror I saw a girl standing behind me with black eyes, pale white skin and blood all over her face. I quickly looked behind me, but there wasnothing there, I looked at the mirror again, slowly and not wanting to look and there she was again with those black eyes like the ones of a demon, only that she looked angrier like she was going to kill someone or me. And then I blink and she was gone again. I thought it was just my mind playing a trick on me so I ran to bed and stayed there for the rest of the night before I actually believed what Iwas seeing.
The next few nights nothing happened, so I thought the first night was just a dream, an illusion from my mind. The next night I heard the door in my room opening slowly, like if the person or thing that was opening it didn’t want me to notice what was happening. I could hear the creaking of the door getting louder and louder and the door opened wider. I covered my head with thesheets, really close to my body, like it could really do anything against the thing that was about to come inside my room, scared to death because I knew I was alone in the house. I heard footsteps getting closer and closer to my bed, slowly as if the thing didn’t wanted me to realize. Maybe my dad had come home early so I dared to look. To my surprise there was no one there. I tried to fall backasleep, but all I could think of was that maybe the house was haunted, or my room was haunted. My mind was going crazy with all the impossible possibilities there might be. I had been living in that house for 6 years, and there was no way suddenly a ghost could appear in my house. It doesn’t make sense this happening now all of a sudden.
I tried to tell my parents the next day, but theythought I was just making it all up as usual. I felt like I was in a typical horror movie where no one believed the teenager. I thought I could get some proof if I leave a video camera on to record the sounds the ghost was making. And just maybe this way my parents would believe what I was telling them. Just before I went to bed I left the camera beside my bed, it made a strange light around my roombut I could manage my sleep anyway. At first it was only thinking about if anything would happen, and if it did happen, would the camera record it so I could show the evidence to my parents? I was about to fall asleep when I heard the door open and then slam shut. I covered myself under the covers again, I could feel a really bad aura around me, I felt some kind of strange heat around my neck,when suddenly; the covers came off of me. I was terrified. My first reaction was to cuddle around my pillow; I didn’t know what to do should I scream? Grab my sheets? Or run? I didn’t know. I just stayed still; I was too scared to do anything else. Then suddenly, the bed started to move from side to side like if someone was moving it. I tried to scream out my dads name but no voice came out, it waslike my whole body was stiff, powerless for at least some seconds, I ran to the door but it was somehow locked. I was trapped. Nowhere to run. I knocked on the door so hard I felt my hands were going to come off, every time I hilted that door I herded different stuff on my back, strange sounds. But when I looked, suddenly I heard a man voice saying, “Come to me sit on the bed, I don’t bite, I...
