In this article from The Chicago Tribune, the author Peter Kendall is trying to transmit us some facts and opinionsabout human cloning. He explains the ethical, environmental and social advantages and disadvantages cloning could bring in a near future, enriching his opinions with other’s sources of information.People have thought about carefully for years about human cloning but there are many reasons why they do it; one specialist mentioned that cloning a couple’s child was a correct action because this kidneeded a bone marrow transplant only a cloned brother could donate. But another author like Arthur Caplan, explains that, when cloning, the very first experiments would be repugnant; consequently, manymalformed children will be born. However, some others think cloning can save animals on the verge of extinction but also change the protocols of genetic. The main question could be: should we cratepeople disabilities on purpose?
Cloning animals or plants could be a good way to end with some now day’s problems, but cloning humans is wrong and it should not be attempted in the future. A transplantmight be a good and intelligent way to save your child from death, but what about the new baby? Of course he will be recognized as a family member and will receive a lot of love and affection too;but when this child grows, will realize he was given birth just because his older brother needed the transplant, and he will be famous around the world because of the fact that he is kind of a “bodysupport”. As Glenn Mc Gee said, choosing your baby’s traits may sound great too, but just imagine how many choices they would be, compared to every single baby borned every day! That means very fewoptions to choose; As a result, there will be a lot of persons with the same features, so you can expect not to receive a birth certificate only, but a receipt of payments too showing what you chose....
