Good morning, my name’s Daniela Alfaro. My team is composed by John Santibañez or Fernando Cruz, Aracelli Alfaro and Jorge Cortinez or Maximiliano Arroyo. We arerepresenting San Francisco high school from Vallenar.

Well, this house believes that organ donation shouldn´t be compulsory, and we are going to explain why:
First ofall, do you know really what organ donation mean?
Ok, we can say that organ donation is a surgical procedure that involves replacing an organ or tissue that presents afailure and it’s impossible to fulfill its full role.

We disagree with organ donation because it´s against the basic principles of human beings such as the freechoice of individuals, the right to life, it’s also against religions principles and promotes organ trafficking. . We know that donate organs is giving life, but if you takean organ without permission that’s theft.
Concerning the free choice of individuals, we think that the state trespasses it. Because according to state law number19.451 (nineteen thousands four hundred fifty one). Article two: “Each person over eighteen years old shall be treated as a donor just by the way of being dead.”
*First, we believe the state should not engage in a very personal decision like this because every individual or his or her family has the right to choose his or her owndestiny.
* Secondly, on the other hand there are cases where people have brain death and doctors try to convince their families to disconnect them, but who are we to playGod? We are just humans, and we don’t have the right to kill other people.
* Finally, As demand always exceeds supply, it lends itself to promote organ trafficking.
