1) It was the winter of the year 2053. The long streets were empty. Night wasfalling, and everybody was watching TV inside their house. In those days, TV was very important and all the inhabitants loved it

2) Nothing happened at night in this large metropolis. Nobody wentout now, and even crime was a thing of the past.

3) Everybody followed the same routine. But one person was different: Mr. Leonard Mead. He was a writer, but he didn´t write anymore. Nobodybought books magazines now. He was strange man in this place because he didn´t like watching TV. he enjoyed walking, and this city was the ideal’ place to do so.

4) Every evening, Mr. Mead had awalk around the city district and looked at the houses. In al of them he could always see the TVs.
``what are they watching? ‘He asked himself.
``What´s on TV tonight? ´´ A quiz show, a soapopera, a film, the news? How boring!
Everything is nice in the open air, not in front of a TV!´´.


5) One night, Mr. Mead was thinking about life and walking along the cold deserted streetswhen he saw something approaching. It was the only police car in the city! The lights of the car illuminated him, and Mr. Mead could hear a voice shouting; ``Halt!´´ The light hit his eyes, and thevoices frightened him.

6) ''What are you doing here?'' a police voice asked Mr. Mead. ''Just Walking'', he answered. Silence... And then the same voice from the police car: ''Just walking?!...
