Mexico and International Trade

Globalization can be negative or positive for a country, but nowadays it is a reality.
Is Mexico beneficiated with free trade of products? Is Internationalcompetition reducing the consumption of Mexican products? To answer this questions is necessary to talk about the Mexican history in International commerce, all the advantages that this provide to us and thedisadvantages that Mexico has to deal comparing with other countries.

Is not easy to talk about the International Trade history in Mexico. But some facts can help to understand it. During World WarII Mexico had very good business relations with the United States. They provided a lot of raw materials, which were necessary to support American military needs. A few years later (1965), to improvethe manufacturing sector, Mexico´s government started an Industrialization Program. Those programs allows US and foreign companies to ship components and production equipment into Mexico, free ofduty, for assembly or processing utilizing Mexican labor.
In 1980, Mexican goverment liberalized the country for free trade. Maybe the country wasn´t enought prepared to suffer this dramatic change, butIn 1986 Mexico was add at GATT.
As I mentioned, Mexico started to open their doors for free trade, Mexican goverment did that to improve economy, foreign invest and stabilized the peso. are all thetrade agreements that Mexico sign other countries. Actually Mexico has 14 commercial agreements with 24 different countries.
Free Trade, Agreements with other countries and importation of issuesmakes Mexican economy flow, as a result Govermentnt has to deal with some disadvantages comparing with other countries.
A country, importing foreign products, do not just import issues, Mexican peoplestarted to adopt International culture, an example of that, is about trends and fashion, people wear imported clothes with foreign tendency, as a result, people started to look as a foreign.
