MUERTE FETAL INTRAUTERINA

RESUMEN
La muerte fetal es uno de los accidentes obstétricos más difíciles de enfrentar. Tanto la mujer
embarazada como el feto, a pesar de cumplir con un proceso de carácter netamente fisiológico como
es el embarazo, están expuestos a una serie de riesgos queamenaza su salud y vidas. Entre las
probables complicaciones se encuentra la muerte fetal intrauterina.
Se define muerte fetal intrauterina como “la muerte acaecida antes de la expulsión o extracción
completa de la madre, del producto de la concepción, cualquiera haya sido la duración de la gestación”. Aunque algunos autores la definen como “el cese de la vida fetal a partir de las 20 semanas degestación y con un peso mayor a 500 gramos”. Este problema alcanza frecuencias comprendidas entre el 7 a 10 por 1000 nacidos vivos en la mayoría de los países americanos.
En cuanto a la etiología es muy diversa, y ellas pueden deberse a alteraciones fetales, maternas,
placentarias, ambientales o ser de origen idiopática.
Los factores de riesgo básicamente se basan en tres grandes categorías: a)Macroambiente: señala la situación económica y cultural de la embarazada; b) Matroambiente: engloba todas las otras
características de la madre, no incluidas en el macroambiente; y c) Microambiente: factores asociados al feto, placenta, cordón y líquido amniótico.
Una incapacidad para detectar los latidos cardiofetales durante el examen físico sugiere muerte
fetal. Sin embargo esto no esconcluyente y el óbito se debe confirmar mediante un estudio ecográfico. Sin embargo, es de vital importancia que se realice la investigación pertinente destinada a dilucidar la causa (o las causas) del óbito, y/o sus factores contribuyentes.
SUMMARY
The fetal death is one of the obstetrical accidents more difficult to face. As much the pregnant
woman as the fetus, in spite of fulfilling a process ofnet physiological character like is the pregnancy,
are exhibited to a series of risks that threatens its health and lives. Between the probable complications is the intrauterine fetal death.
Intrauterine fetal death like “the death happened before the expulsion is defined or complete extraction of the mother, of the product of the conception, anyone has been the duration of the gestation”.Although to some they define it authors as “the cease of the fetal life as of the 20 weeks of gestation and with a weight greater to 500 grams”. This problem reaches frequencies between the 7 to 10
by 1000 been born alive ones in the majority of the American countries.
As far as aetiology she is very diverse, and they can be due to fetal, maternal, placental, environmental alterations or to be ofidiopatic origin .
The risk factors basically are based on three great categories: a) Macroatmosphere: it indicates
the economic and cultural situation of the pregnant woman; b) Matroatmosphere: it includes all the
other characteristics of the mother, not including in the macroatmosphere; and c) Microatmosphere:
factors associated to the fetus, placenta, cord and amniotic liquid.

Nevertheless this is not conclusive and the death is due to confirm by means of an ecographic study.
Nevertheless, this is vitally important that is realised the investigation pertinent destined to explain the
cause (or the causes) of the death, and/or his factors contributors.

obstétricos más difíciles de enfrentar. Por parte
de la madre significa un desencanto que desvanece todas las expectativas forjadas en ese
futuro niño. Y por parte del médico representa
un fracaso científico si la causa que lo produce
puede prevenirse o un vacío del conocimiento
