Independence of Canada

Canada is a federal state parliament of North America, a member of the Commonwealth, bordered on the north by the Arctic Ocean, on the northeast by Baffin Bay andDavis Strait, which separates it from Greenland, to the east by the Atlantic Ocean, south with the U.S. and the west by the Pacific Ocean and Alaska.
Through the 1867 Constitution. The Canadianconstitution is called British North America Act, which was passed by the English Parliament in 1867. The architects of this independence (Cartier, Brown, Macdonald, McGee), however, decided notto completely break with Great Britain. The official head of state is Queen Elizabeth II, represented in the country by the / the Governor General (General Governor). Canada is still part ofthe British Commonwealth. Canada gained independence from Britain peacefully.
In 1867, then, Canada had approximately 3.8 million inhabitants and four provinces only. Of course Canada's historygoes far beyond 1867.
Since the arrival of the first explorers to the constitutional talks in recent years has been more than four centuries.
Before the Act of 1867, Canada was composed ofUpper Canada and Lower Canada (both in the territory of the province of Quebec at that time-1791).
Canada's history dates back to the sixteenth century. In this space we present only someinteresting facts. The important thing is to remember that Canada has its foundation in three cultures: French, English and Indian. These cultures have defined Canadian personality and character.In the years since 1867 the country has grown at a flow of immigrants from dozens of different countries contributing to a dynamic multiculturalism, especially in big cities.
On April 17, 1982,Queen Elizabeth proclaimed the Constitution Act of Canada currently governing, although Canada as unique features is the fact that the Province of Quebec is not signatoria of the Constitution.
