I took a medium bowl and poured the butter and the sugar. Then added vanilla and the water, and finally add flour and the pecans. I letit chill for a while, and then preheated the oven to 325 degrees. I shaped the dough into balls placed an unprepared cookie sheet and baked the cookies for 15 to 20 minutes. After it was done I tookthe cookies out and let them cool a little and finally took the cookies and rolled them

1 cup and 2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup and 1 tablespoon white sugar
2-1/4 teaspoons vanilla extract
2-1/4teaspoons water
2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup and 2 tablespoons chopped almonds
1/2 cup and 1 tablespoon confectioners' sugar
Directions

This recipe's Ingredients were scaled to yield a newamount. The directions below still refer to the original recipe yield of 3 dozen.
In a medium bowl, cream the butter and sugar. Stir in vanilla and water. Add the flour and almonds, mix untilblended. Cover and chill for 3 hours.
Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Shape dough into balls or crescents. Place on an unprepared cookie sheet and bake for 15 to 20 minutes in the preheated oven. Remove frompan to cool on wire racks. When cookies are cool, roll in confectioners' sugar. Store at room temperature in an airtight container.
