Math Project: Algebra Book Created By Students
Objective of the project:
The objective of the Algebra Book (study guide) is to increase student’s capabilities in mathematics. The purpose of thisproject is to provide an opportunity for students to apply the knowledge and skills learnt in the classroom. By creating a study guide explained by the students using their own words, the studentsbecome an active part of the class. When a student is able to explain a topic, it means that they understand it well enough, and that they will remember it for a longer period of time.
UnderstandingMathematics
You understand a piece of mathematics if you can do all of the following:
* Explain mathematical concepts and facts in terms of simpler concepts and facts.
* Easily make logicalconnections between different facts and concepts.
* Recognize the connection when you encounter something new (inside or outside of mathematics) that's close to the mathematics you understand.
*Identify the principles in the given piece of mathematics that make everything work.

What the students will do:
1- The students will create a report on every subject discuss in class throughoutthe semester. The report must be in English, but the video can be in Spanish.
2- The students must work with a partner to promote team work.
3- Every report that the students create must bearchived in a binder.
4- At the end of the school’s year the teacher will verify that each subject taught in class is included in the student’s binder.
Every Report should have:
I- Cover page(5points)
II- Table of contents(5points)
III- Introduction
The student must make a paragraph with 4 or more sentences. (10points)
IV- Definitions and formulas (rules or theory) (10points)
V- Examples
The students must explain at least 4 examples by writing the explanation, or making a tutorial video. (24 points)
VI- 1 Explained problem solving (6 points )
