Introduction
All of the ancient wonders include objects made by human beings that were considered important because of their size or some unusual quality.
The SevenWonders of the Ancient World is the first known list of the most remarkable creations of classical antiquity, and was based on guide-books. The number seven was chosen because the Greeks believed it to be the representation of perfection and plenty.
The list known today was compiled in the Middle Ages; by which time many of the sites were no longer in existence. Today, the only ancient world wonderthat still exists is the Great Pyramid of Giza.
The Seven Wonders of the Ancient World are:
* The Great Pyramid of Giza
* The Hanging Gardens of Babylon
* The Temple of Zeus
* The Colossus of Rhodes
* The Lighthouse of Alexandria
* The Temple of Artemis
* The Mausoleum of Halicarnassus

I choose this topic because I know about the Natural Wonders, but when Ithink about them I really don`t know anything, so I like to learn more about all the Wonders.

The Great Pyramid of Giza
Is the oldest and largest of the three pyramids in the Giza Necropolis bordering what isnow El Giza, Egypt.
The great pyramids were built between 2650-2500. It is made up of 2300000 blocks, that each weight two and a half tons; it took 20 years for 100000 slaves to built it.
Egyptologists believe that the pyramid was built as a tomb for fourth dynasty Egyptian Pharaoh Khufu. (Khufu’s, is believe by some you be the architect of the Great Pyramid)
Originally, the Great Pyramidwas covered by casing stones that formed a smooth outer surface; what is seen today is the underlying core structure.
There have been varying scientific and alternative theories about the Great Pyramid’s construction techniques. Most accepted constructions are based on the idea that it was built by moving huge stones from a quarry and dragging and lifting them into a place. It is thought that, atconstruction, the Great Pyramid was originally 280 Egyptian cubits tall, 146.5 meters.
The pyramid remained the tallest man-made structure in the world for over 3800 years.
The first quasi-precision measurements of the pyramid were done by Egyptologist Sir Flinders Petrie. Almost all reports are based on his measurements.

Around the base of the Great Pyramid were four smaller pyramids,three of which still stand today.

The Hanging Gardens of Babylon
“Some stories indicate the Hanging Gardens of Babylon towered hundreds of feet into the air, but archeological explorations indicate a more modest, but still impressive, height.” (Lee Kystek, 1998)
The Gardens are sometimes called the Hanging Gardens of Semiramis (in reference to the legendary Queen Semiramis)....
