WHO IS NELSON MANDELA?
Nelson Mandela was the first blackPresident of South Africa legally elected by the people of South Africa. He fought against racism and for equal rights of black people.
Mandela was born in a small town called Transkei in South Africa (on18, July, 1918). He attended a British missionary school and after completing his education at the British missionary School, Nelson Mandela travelled to Johannesburg the capital of South Africa tostudy Law. Soon after his studies, he got a job in a law firm.
Mandela was the first member of his family to attend a school and was given the English name "Nelson” by his teacher, his real name wasRolihlahla

The political life of Nelson Mandela started when he joined the African National Congress (ANC), an organization that made peaceful protests against the abusesuffering and discrimination against black South Africans.
Nelson Mandela with the African National Congress also organized protest of demonstrations against the system of racial isolation known asAPARTHEID.

APARTHEID is understood as a: phenomenon of racial separation in South Africa, a symbol of political economic, social and racial discrimination established by White men.

So, to raisefunds and resources for the organization Mandela travelled to several countries in Africa for help, but on his return to South Africa he was captured and put on trial, Mandela was accused ofinterfering with law and order of society and (Do you know how long he was sent to prison for? He was sentenced for lifetime imprisonment.
