Fortino Mario Alfonso Moreno Reyes, better known as Cantinflas was born in Santa Maria la Redonda, Mexico City on August 12, 1911 and died on April 20 1993. It was the sixth of 12children, the son of Pedro Moreno Equivel, mailman, and Soledad Reyes Moreno Guizar.
Besides being known as Cantinflas, was also known as mime or comic raincoat.
Of humble origins, he sufferedpoverty during his childhood. He grew up in Tepito neighborhood. To succeed knew how to use audacity and street tricks he knew. He enrolled at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Mexico City to pleasehis father, but during the study begins to make his first steps as a dancer and wannabe professionals. It is also a space dedicated to professional boxing long before venturing into the world ofentertainment.
He worked in the circus and soon his great talent for interpretation, his tenderness and his optimistic vision of the world led him to recreate the kind of "peel" (common man and poor ofMexico, which he characterized with sagging pants, ragged shirt, tie around his neck ...) and thus was born "Cantinflas". One day he went to an appointment with a vaudeville impresario of Jalapa(Veracruz) to see him dance but an incident in the Cantinflas local scene had to go and calm down the public. The nerve was not allowed to speak fluently and to talk haltingly made the audience laugh. Sobegan his career as a comedian.
On October 27, 1936 he married Valentina Ivanova Zubareff, whose origin was Russian, her marriage lasted until she died in 1966. Valentina Although childless, sheadopted a child who had Mario in 1961, which they named Mario Arturo Moreno Ivanova.
Charles Chaplin himself admired and tried to make a movie with him but was unable to even once called him "thebest comedian in the world".
His filmography is vast, playing a number of roles ranging from sweepers to ministers, is credited with 50 films, including films include, two Americans and a Spanish...
