What is ARASHÁ?
ARASHÁ is much more than Ecuador's Tropical Forest Resort & Spa and more than the exotic and delicious fruit of this unique region, which was the inspiration for our name.
Itis located less than two hours and a half by car from Quito, Ecuador in the middle of the richest, most biodiverse "Hot Spot" on the globe. What are Biodiversity “Hot Spots”?
Biodiversity "Hot Spots" are unique places on earth setapart by exceptional levels of plant endemism and by serious levels of habitat loss. In order to qualify as a "hotspot", a region must meet two, very strict criteria.
First, it must contain at least1,500 species of vascular plants as endemics.
Second, it must have lost at least 70% of its original habitat.
Very few "hot spots" left in our planet.
Where is ARASHÁ?
ARASHÁ is located in the richest“Hot Spot” on the globe, with more than 35.000 species of plants (which constitute roughly 10% of the planet).
Of these 35.000 species of plants, more than 50% are endemic to this area. This areaalso contains the largest variety of amphibians in the world, with over 664 distinct species and around 500 species of birds, wich most of them are endemic. At ARASHÁ you can watch over 176 species ofbirds. You will need more than one early morning wake up to see many of them. 
Almost 450 amphibian species are listed as endangered and threatened. ARASHÁ is fully aware of this delicate issue and...
