The Holy Ghost in our daily lives
This subject has been in my mind a lot throughout this semester, especially because of important decisions that are ahead. And this is what I have learned,thank you to the New Testament, my daily scriptures study and also by studying the words of modern Prophets.
As we start, I will take as consideration this concern that I have had: How can I always havethe Holy Ghost with me, make right decisions and do what Heavenly Father expects from me?
A lot of times in our lives we are not sure if the decision we are making is the right one, or if thedecision comes from God, or it’s only us. As is studied, I have learned a lot of different principles; I will talk about some of those principles.
As we go to church every Sunday and renew our firstcovenant, we need to always remember the things that are said. First we promise God that we will “always remember Him, and keep His commandments”, and God promises us that “they may always have theSpirit to be with them” (D&C 20:77).
That covenant, of the sacrament, is so simple, but so essential in our lives, we do it once a week, but what do we do every day besides Sunday to keep what wehave promised?
There are some things that we can do, daily, to keep our promise. Some of them are: we ought to pray always (3Nephi18:19). As we pray daily we are thinking and remembering God andHis Son, Jesus Christ, we are doing a part of our promise of always remembering Him. We also remember him as we study the scriptures daily, learning and treasuring up the words of God (D&C84:85).We need to study the scriptures daily along with prayer, so we can have the companionship of the Holy Ghost.
We have also promised that we will keep all of the commandments, as we have theSpirit through our daily scripture study and prayer we will remember the words of God and will keep our hearts and hands, pure and clean. President President J. Reuben Clark Jr said “When we partake of...
