The apparent normality of the façade of a modest house in Tokyo lies the horror that lies within. The house is possessed by a violent plague that destroys the lives of all whoenter it. Known as "The Grudge" this curse causes its victims to die possessed of a powerful rage. Every death caused by the curse causes the birth of a new victim, making it spreads like a virus,creating an endless, growing chain of horror. Karen (Sarah Michelle Gellar) is an American exchange student studying social work in Japan who innocently agrees to replace a nurse who has not beenintroduced to his job. When she enters the assigned home discovers an elderly American, Emma (Grace Zabriskie), who is in a catatonic state while the rest of the house appears deserted and abandoned. Whilecaring for the sick old woman, Karen hears scratching the top of the housing. In researching the origin of these strange noises is faced with a supernatural power more terrifying than I ever couldhave imagined. Inside this house has started a cycle of death caused by a terrifying evil that was born years ago. Karen is trapped within this circle and learns the deadly secret of the vengeful cursethat has taken root in the house.Now, you must stop it before it's too late.
