The home page screen is a single central place where I can initiate any type of BI action. It’s an
intuitive a task oriented interface. I can create analysis,reports, dashboards in a single click, I can
navigate the existing contents, I can quickly reach out to help links, or see most recent or most
popular items. I can open a prebuilt dashboard from the list of pages that I am allowed to see.

We are looking at a dashboard page through OBIEE dashboards web UI, that presents several
reports, potentially coming from different sources and all available to me in a personalized, secured
manner.
The data seen on the page is filtered automatically with permissioning rules relative to my role and
responsibilities and credentials.

I just expanded the Biztech product line, and I can now see the details making it up, while the rest of
the report aggregations and context kept unchanged.
As we keep expanding the product hierarchy, we can isolate the details of any branches of the
hierarchy to its bottom, while leaving the rest of the report unchanged.This capability in OBIEE is totally independent from the back end physical source. The data source
here could be a Multidimensional format, a relational model, or even an unstructured Data.

1. Click on plussign on Biztech product line on top left report
2. Click on plus sign on the Electronics product on top left report
3. Expand the Audio product on top left report to see details
4. Clear customizations you just made : click on dashboard properties

OBIEE 11g includes highly interactive visualizations, that allow users to navigate their data veryintuitively. Dialog bubbles indicate all details about the records I am hovering my mouse over, sliders
allow to navigate additional dimension axis very intuitively.

customizable and can be very sophisticated filtering
Notice that reports are all showing many years, then de-activate some year filters, make the point that
all reports are changing on the page
In particular, mention that
• reports coming from all different sources areimpacted by the same filter
• The data seen on the page could already default with an automatic filter based on data visibility of
the users, or its role.
