1. Purpose of Investigation

* The purpose of this investigation is to figure out why the previous clients have stopped going and have opted to visit the competition.

* We also want to find what clients are attracted to the restaurant and bar business.

* And what they enjoyed about the place before so we can recommend any necessary changes but still keep what makes theestablishment unique and attractive to the public.

3. Operational Concept Definition

* Pa’l Cielo: In all religions the best place to be after death is in heaven because you can reach total peace and happiness. With this name “Pa’l Cielo” tries to make the customers believe that thisbar and restaurant gave you everything means this metaphor

4. Second Information
* Pal Cielo was born on September 17, 2008
* It’s located at The Loiza St
* Was funded by Laura T. Feliciano (Laura OM) and Carlo A. Rivera Torres (Carlo Aldo) also owners of La B de Burro located at Ocean Park with the purpose of bringing an“urban” concept to the Loiza St.
* The concept of this place is a combination of different cultures based on religion, such as Catholic, Buddhism, Hinduism and other.
* By bringing a new concept to the area, Pal’ Cielo was made to make people feel identified with any cultural details of the food, the music or the decoration.
* Pal’ Cielo have the capacity for 40 people in any area of theplace.
* Pal Cielo had fourteen employees.
* It opens Wednesday to Sundays from 5:00pm to 2:00am.
5. Research of the Restaurant Industry
The restaurant business is fast-paced and ever-changing which makes it extremely competitive. This means that any person who decides to start a business in this market must be creative, innovative, and open-minded.

Strength* Loyal and consistent customers
* The frequency of customers has not been made using traditional media. It’s about “word of mouth”.
* Innovative menu
* Restaurants menu is based on recipes collected from different culture trips. The recipes have been created by its owners.
* Healthy menu
* Offering healthy and satisfying products without sacrificing the taste of thecustomers.
* Special events during specific days
* During specific days it offers different special events for the enjoyment of the customers. (Live music, etc.)
* Restaurant concept (theme)
* Based in the different religions of the world, a concept that others don’t have.

* Location
* Not a good looking neighborhood (abandoned buildings)
*Ventilation (no A/C)
* Only fans with high temperatures are not good.
* Bathroom
* Don’t have a lot illumination and the walls are darks.
Opportunities
* Art exhibitions
* When the gallery across the street produces an exhibition the public ends in Pa’l Cielo.
* Nearby the beach
* The people who go to Ocean Park Beach can ends in “Pal’ Cielo” to enjoy thefood and good music because they don’t have to worry about a dress code.
Threats
* Competition prices
* Nearby bars are offering lower prices for similar products.
* Competition in the same street.
* New theme bar & restaurants are located in the same street.
* Crime rate in local area
* Criminality is increasing in the surroundings of the restaurant. Thisdoes not make the clients to feel comfortable and secure.

Competition: There are four direct competition of Pal Cielo:

* El Bar Bero- Is a 50’s Barber Shop themed bar equipped with barber and boot cleaning chairs from throughout the years, bringing a historical touch to the atmosphere. It is located on the same street as Pa’l Cielo.
