Binational Customs
I’ll present some different cases about some normal customs changing intobinational or multinational customs. First of all I will remark on what is a custom, a custom is an establishment generally placed on the border of the countries, their principal activities are; check theentrance and exit of the different products to or from the country, also the customs are related to the international commerce so, they are in charge of collect the taxes that each product should pay,and to regulate and apply the different norms and laws depending on each country.
Mexico has 49 customs, 19 in the north border of the country, 2 in the south border, 17 maritime and 11 internal. Theyare situated among the different states, depending on the strategically zones. There was a study during 2007 that says that Mexico’s northern and southern customs collect the 23 percent of thenational gross domestic product, because the world has change into a big worldwide market, the income of the customs in Mexico should increase. The more important customs of the border are the Nuevo Laredo,the one in Ciudad Juarez, and Tijuana’s custom. The maritime ones are the Veracruz port, Manzanillo, and the Ensenada’s custom.
In October 2011 a report was published saying that in Nuevo Leon aproject start and its point was to have a binational custom. This will be the construction of an inter-port located in the way of the FTA and near Saltillo and Nuevo Laredo’s highways; this custom willhelp increasing the development of the exports of the country. The port will have different ways of transporting this includes, air transport, railroad, and highway transport. This should make the...
