POPULAR CULTURE OF JAPAN

The culture of Japan is the result of a historical process that begins with the immigration waves originating from the continent of Asia and the islands of the Pacific Ocean , followed by a strong cultural influence from China and then a long period of isolation from the world ( sakoku ) by the Tokugawa shogunate until the beginning of the Meiji Era in the latenineteenth , where it receives a huge foreign influence and becomes stronger after the end of World War II . This resulted in a culture different from other Asian cultures.
In Japan , personal interactions are strongly influenced by the ideas of "honor", "obligation" and "duty", together known asgiri, representing a custom different from the individualistic culture and liberal Westerncountries. The conceptions of "morality" and "desirable behaviors" are less practiced in family situations, school and friendship. However, there is a more formal practice in front of superiors or strangers.
One aspect that has had a significant role in Japanese culture is the Japanese language . Also practiced (nemawashi  ),which refers to the careful and serious preparation of a project that reflects theharmony accepted and respected within Japanese culture.
On the other hand, the Japanese have a sense of humor intricate and complicated, reflected much in the language, culture, religion and ethics, and is sometimes considered to be very difficult to interpret for other cultures.

Attire
In Japan you can find two types of clothing : traditional and modern. In the traditional costume highlightsthe kimono literally "thing to wear", a garment striking long used by women, men and children on special occasions, which consists of a background, a lining and the superior striking. Kimono sleeves also differentiate married women single women. The kimono and rarely used because of its difficulty of use, even in antiquity there were people who used to dress people in kimonos. Other garments wornby the Japanese are the yukata , a kimono light of summer, the hakama  , a garment ceremonial, the Jinbei , slightly male garment used as pajamas , and the jūnihitoe, a female garment similar to a kimono and used by the nobles.
Among the traditional belts and sashes are the obi , used together with the kimono, hakama and yukata. As for the shoes traditional are: the tabi  and Jika-tabi , whichare the traditional middle, the zori , which are used as sandals, the Geta ,a kind of clog , and the waraji, a sandal worn by monks Buddhist .
With regard to modern Japanese costume, there are some trends such as ganguro , which is characterized by a female fashion designer wear, having tanned skin and take the excessive use of accessories. Another trend in modern Japan is the lolitafashion , which is inspired by Victorian children's fashion with elements of Rococo and has had leads of subcultures gothic , punk , meido, etc.. Interestingly, the Japanese school uniform was taken as a special variant of youth apparel, which is well reflected in the Japanese media. Another form of modern fashion that started in Japan is the cosplay , which consists of dressing up a character to appear in someJapanese media: anime , manga , video games , music videos , etc.
Popular culture and entertainment
Concepts as diverse as manganime, video games and tenderness ( kawaii ) are part of modern Japanese popular culture.
Japanese popular culture not only reflects the attitudes and concerns of the present also have a connection to the past. The movies, TV shows, animated series and music aredeveloped from ancient literary and artistic traditions, and many of these topics and presentation styles can be considered as traditional art forms. Contemporary forms of popular culture, apart from traditional forms, provide not only entertainment but an escape into modern Japanese of the problems of an industrialized world. In a study to measure the amount of hours devoted to leisure and...
