FESTIVAL OF THE FLOWERPOT
 
 
Each month of June in the Cauca Valley celebrates the Festival of the pots, one of the most sweet and beautiful traditions preserved in the country. This month Caliand Valle del Cauca are filled with joy, tenderness and color thanks to the custom of giving pot to hold 'Day of the godchildren'.
 
The Festival comes to municipalities as Yumbo, Buenaventura, Buga,Cerrito, Guacarí, Seville, Tuluá, Carthage, Santander Quilichao and Palmira.
 
Holding for 18 years the Festival pot the Cali trade house drives the positioning of the pot as one of the symbols ofthe Valle del Cauca and supports sugar artisans providing them with a space where promoting and marketing their products, generating employment and income for a large number of family businesses everyyear dedicated to the development and commercialization of this handmade product.
 
 
A festival pot has 170 points of exhibition and sale, which are located in the Hill of San Antonio, storeschain and Cali and commercial centers in strategic locations of each municipality. In this way the Cali trade house contributes to support micro-enterprises dedicated to the elaboration of the pots togive them a space to promote and market their products.
Route sweet
Each year the festival has the 'route sweet of the godchildren', a holiday tour joins the neighborhood San Antonio, place where bornthe pots and which by tradition is the epicenter of the Festival and the barrio El Peñón, gastronomic and cultural sector which has in its Park an exhibition of the process of elaboration of thepots.

To keep this tradition alive among children, is the competition ' pots: tradition, sweet and colour ', aimed at children between 5 and 12 years of age, who accompanied by her godmother andGodfather do the 'route sweet' tour in which know the history of this celebration and at the same time develop their own pots.
