Introduction
Confucianism,one of thethree major religion traditions in China,  is based on the teachings of K'ung-fu-tzu (552-479 bce), known in the west as Confucius.  This secular "religion" focuses on the conduct and practices of peoplein daily life - the creation of a society based on virtue. Primary relationships are between parents and children, especially fathers and sons.   Cardinal virtues include Benevolence, Duty, Manners,Wisdom, and Faithfulness.
Centered in China, the coexisting ideas and practices of Confucianism and Taoism influence Asia and to a lesser degree, other world cultures.
Confucius, a humble man frompoor beginnings, became so influential that his teachings inspired a philosophy, a religion, and a way of life that has lasted until today.
From his basic "sayings" in The Analects, or discussions,there developed a philosophy, a social system and a political system which was based on harmony, tolerance, and merit.
Confucius was born in answer to his parents' prayers at a sacred hill called Ni.Confucius' surname Kong means literally an utterance of thankfulness when prayers have been answered.

Conclusion
Confucius has had a great part in moulding the history of China and his influenceis to this day a dominant factor in the public and private life of that country.
Confucius has rendered immortal the Sixth Century B.C. He was a born ruler of men. He would have shone as one of theworld’s greatest monarchs, if circumstances had been favourable. He had a highly developed moral sense and a profound realisation of the supreme importance of morals in human life. His greatness hasbeen universally recognised for many centuries. He is held in the highest reverence by hundreds of millions of the world’s inhabitants.
