Rastafarian Religion
Rastafarian is a religion that was created in the early 1900s due to the social and poor economic conditions of the Black people inJamaica. They believe that both Jesus Christ and Haile Selassie I, who was alive at the time the religion, started and was the Emperor of Ethiopia, wereincarnations of God.
Rastafarian Flag
One of the more obvious symbols of the Rastafarians is color! These are red, gold, and green.
The color red stands for theChurch Triumphant, which is the church of the Rasta! The yellow represents the wealth of the homeland. Green represents the beauty and vegetation ofEthiopia
Rastafarian Beliefs
The prime basic belief of the Rastafarians is that Haile Selassie is the living God for the black race. Rasta has a concept ofBabylon. For them this represents modern western "society", which they see as corrupt and white dominated.
The true Rasta
Eats only I-tal food. This is specialfood never touches chemicals or is natural and not in cans.! This food is cooked, but served in the rawest form possible; without salts, preservatives, orcondiments.
Judah lion
The Lion of Judah represents Haile Selassie, the Conqueror. It represents the King of Kings as a lion is the king of all beasts.
Thedreadlocks
0n a Rasta's head symbolize the Rasta’s roots, The way the hair grows comes to represent the symbol of the Lion of Judah.!
Marijuana use
Theuse of this herb is very extensive among the Rasta not only for spiritual purposes as in their Nyabinghi celebration, but also for medicinal purposes.
