The story starts when Maxim the winter went to Monte Carlo and he met Mrs. Van Hopper and the narrator. The narrator was shy, so beautiful and very young. Then she received a note fromMaxim. The following day Mrs. Van Hopper woke up with a sore throat and the narrator had lunch with Max. After that they had a fantastic day out together and the narrator found a book that had the nameRebecca on it. She immediately remembered that Rebecca was Max’s wife and she had died. The narrator and Max spent a lot of days together in Monte Carlo and they fell in love. Some days later Mrs. VanHopper wanted to go to new York and Max asked the narrator to get married with him. They got married and they came to Manderley. When they arrived at Manderley, the narrator met the staff and Mrs.Danvers who was the housekeeper showed the narrator’s bedroom in the east wing. The narrator was afraid of Mrs Danvers. Life in Manderley was very carefully planned, it was like a routine but the narratorfelt in the wrong place. The following day Maxim’s sister appeared with his husband and Frank Crawley. They spent a good time in the garden and Beatrice said that the narrator was so very differentfrom his old wife. Next day the narrator and Maxim Decided to go to a place called Happy Valley. This Valley was the heart of Manderley and they went there with Jasper the dog. Then Jasper climbed overthe rocks and the narrator was going towards his dog. They were in a bay and Jasper was with a strange man. After that the narrator found a cottage in the Bay but they came back to Manderley to havetea. The narrator thought that she couldn’t escape from Rebecca. Then the wife of the bishop called and the narrator talk with her about Manderley and Rebecca. Later that afternoon, frank crawleyappeared and the narratot said that she wanted to do a Fancy Dress Ball. They talked about Rebecca and her death. Mrs. Winter met a new employee called Clarice. Beatrice had sent the narrator four books...
