PRESENT TENSE
Used to express daily habits, usual activities or general statements or facts that occur in the present.

PAST TENSE

PRESENT PROGRESSIVE TENSE
Used to express an activity that is still in progress.
• She is taking a shower now.
• We are answering the lessons now.
PAST PROGRESSIVE TENSE
Used toexpress a past action that was happening when another action occurred.
• She was taking a shower when I arrived.
• We were answering the lessons when she entered the room.
PRESENT PERFECT TENSEUsed to express activities that happened at some unspecified time in the past. When used with SINCE or FOR it expresses situations that began in the past and continue into the present.
• He hasalready eaten breakfast.
• We have visited Knotts Berry Farm many times.
• He has lived there since 1969.

NOTE: After the word HAS, HAVE the verb is in the PAST PARTICIPLE FORM.
PASTPERFECT TENSE
Used to express an activity that was completed before a particular time in the past.

• He had already eaten breakfast.
• We had visited Knotts Berry Farm.
• He had lived theresince 1969.

NOTE: After the word HAD the verb is in the PAST PARTICIPLE FORM.
PRESENT PERFECT PROGRESSIVE TENSE
Used to express the duration of an activity that is in progress.
• Rachel hasbeen talking to Alice for about 2 hours.
• George and Rachel have been dating since 1994.
PAST PERFECT PROGRESSIVE TENSE
Used to express something that started in the past and continued up untilanother time in the past.
• Rachel had been talking to Alice
• George and Rachel had been dating for many years.
FUTURE TENSE
Used to express an action which has not yet occurred.
