Self-Portrait in a Fur-Collared Robe is the painting title. The reasons why decided to paint my portrait is because at this time, it means being at a higherlevel of my profession, intellectual and social, since I can be the star of my work which is reserved exclusively to God, and more late to the monarchy and the aristocracy. Do not forget that art isnow in the service of religious tradition and the glory of God or the church. Art is an educational tool for transmitting a message. One of the most important skills to see, think, learn and solveproblems is the ability to correctly perceive relationships, between a party and another, between the parties and the whole, the picture has a communication reach that words cannot convey. Human faces havealways fascinated artists, capturing a likeness, on the outside so that the disclosure of the person behind the mask has always seemed a worthwhile topic. The portrait is one of the deepest analysisexercises can be done, is the affirmation of the artist as a subject worthy of art, means reflected, both physically and emotionally, emphasizing the psychological dimension of personality and, inturn, allows us to observe over time in the face, and play the whole personality, which makes it unique and unrepeatable for each person.
In my portrait I use professionally symmetricallines representing what I learned and it haunts me, the perspective and human proportions. Using a strict symmetry to draw the face based on a construction formed by a circle and a triangle, made ofthe Byzantine period for images of the redeemer. The symmetrical frontal pose and composition has been only in images of Christ. Use a dark color for the background with intense brightness, enhanced bythe metallic sheen of gold used in the self-portrait.
