Styles of Art applied to Drawing

What makes art so interesting and diverse? There are so many things that answer this question, but one of the biggest reasons is that, throughout history, art hasevolved in different periods through different styles. It gives us new ways of looking at things, and a lot of freedom of expression. The different styles of art are the ever changing voices ofuniqueness and individuality of artists all over the world.

There are different focuses when it comes to styles of art. Some put their expression in mainly through the colors they apply, while others putmore importance on the precision of the lines. Certain styles of art focus on the techniques they use with their media, and others are centered almost completely on the spirituality of theirmasterpieces. In the end, each style of art has developed depending on what the artists who use it wish to capture and express.

Within a focus of suggestiveness and thematic, we find several styles of artto stand out. Cubism is the first, in which the artist simply makes his forms out of geometric shapes, and they aren't intended to look real. Abstraction is another style where artists express theiremotions mainly through color and shape. They aren't realistic figures because they focus on achieving the deepest spiritual release possible, and so instead of shapes, they lay out ideas.Expressionism also had a tendency to look for spiritual expression more than physical. It is a very emotional style of art, where the artists try to release their feelings and aren't worried about how real orunreal it looks. Impressionism and Post-Impressionism are two styles developed in the 19th and 20th centuries; their focus is directed at colors and shading, usually involve still lifes and landscapes.Color and texture are two main elements that have helped develop the styles of Fauvism, Pointillism and Pop Art.
