During the last decades, technology has increased in a very fast way. There are always new things that make our lifes easier and it is impossible for us to stay away from it. It is as if technologyis invading us and even schools are using it and changing the whole way of teaching. If schools change their whole system for new technological methods, then students will not learn the same way, theirimagination and their ability to solve problems will decrease considerably. Therefore, technology should be something used only for basic things, but they should never replace things such as books.Replacing books for computers is not the best way to teach students, I have been in situations in which readings books online end up being a complete failure because I get very distracted and I knowother students have the same problem. If we do not pay enough attention to what we read, then we do not get the knowledge we should get because we will not have a complete understanding. So, Icompletely disagree with the Arizona high school in the United States that replaced its textbooks for laptop computers. They said they have always been agressive in use of technology and they are known fortaking risks (source A), but they are not actually taking any risk, they are just going with the flow, the reason why I think they are changing their system is because having one laptop per studentwill give them more prestige and more people would like to go there. If they say they are risk takers, then they should take the risk not to replace everything for technology and make a difference bygoing against the flow.
This does not mean that schools should just stay completely away from technology, because I know that is something quite impossible to do. They are very good methods in theinternet and very good media that may be useful for teachers to make teaching a lot more interactive and interesting, but technology should only be used as a support, not as “the key ingredient of the...
