Boson CCNP Routing
Objectives
Use VLSM to subdivide a Class C address and to maximize addressing
efficiency
NOTE: Upon completion of this lab. We will return the routers back to the initial
configuration. Make sure that you have a copy ofeach router’s config in a text file

Task 1Network Analysis
1. Log on to each of the routers in your pod, issue the command show ip route.
Note the size of the subnets in the route table. Using /24 subnetting, how
many hosts are allowed per network ?
______________________________________________________________
2. Which networks are wasting address space? Hint, these networks only have
2 hosts.______________________________________________________________
Task 2
Planning New Address Space
1. What type of routing protocol is required to implement a VLSM design?
______________________________________________________________
2. What routing protocol is in use?
______________________________________________________________
3. For grading purposes please refer to the solution on page 7.
SCENARIO: The customer has beenforced into using valid IP addressing on the
public Internet by special application requirements. The Internet Service Provider
has allocated a single class C address to each customer. The class C address to
be used is: 195.10.1.0

Task 3
Readdressing the Network
1. Remove the current private address space.
2. Re-configure the network using the new VLSM address plan
3. Configure Rip to route for the new network
4. R1 FastEthernet 0/0 should remain 10.100.100.1
Task 4Verification
1. Log on to each of the routers in your pod, issue the command show ip route.
Note the size of the subnets in the route table. Note the new IP addresses
and subnet masks in use.
2. Use the command show ip interface brief to verify the interface IP
addresses are correct
3. Ensure that you have full IP connectivity within your pod.
4. If you followed the IP Address solution on page 7...
