Many of us will come to the conclusion that the best option is to look for another job, rather then deal with the current scenario at hand.But have you done all that you can to salvage the situation?
The sources of work life dissatisfaction can be as varied as the individual and organization at hand. Perhaps, you are dealing with afrustrating change in how you must carry out your work. Maybe you have landed with a new, "less than supportive" boss - or you may be feeling a "lack of connection" with your co-workers. But, as thesources of the discomfort can be varied - I often see a pattern or tendency of "giving up control" and not actively attempting to positively impact the current situation. We would rather "pull upstakes" before we have fully explored, or confronted the current situation. Avoiding the entire scenario - and moving on - seems a tempting option.
Setting a course straight into the "eye of the storm"can be anxiety provoking. But, the potential pain may be worth the trouble in the longer term. There are many reasons to turn back around, and deal directly with the situation.
A few to consider:Pinpointing the real problem. What is the true source of the problem? Different issues beg very different courses of action. With a bit of clarity - a viable solution may appear on the horizon.A reality check. Another job may simply not be out there.
