“The hunt for red october”
PROTAGONISTS
Jack Ryan:
He is a tall, good looking man. Ex-marine, tought at the us naval academy. He is currently working for the CIA in London, England. He ismarried and has one daughter who longs for a little brother. Ryan is also an analyst and is often involved in secret military operations.
He had a terrible helicopter accident in the mediterraneansea. He spent ten months in the hospital and one year learning how to walk again. This tragedy makes him afraid of flying in any aircraft. After years, Jack ryan faced his fear and went on a helicopterto complete his mission on intercepting the red october. This shows a really big change in him and this is why Jack ryan is a dynamic carácter.
Marco Ramius:
Ramius is an old man, around his50´s or 60´s with a lot of experience in life. He is captain in first-rank in the soviet navy. He´s born lithuanian and his father was an important figure for communism. Currently ramius is captain of thered october. He´s been captain of every new submarine in the USSR in the last 10 years.
He has very good political connections and he trained all of his other captains.
The russians call him“vilnius nastavnic” which means the “profesor of the vilnius”.
Ramius´s wife died and he has no children. Ramius misses fishing with his father and feeling peace in his heart because he´s been in war for40 years.
He has always had problems with the soviet system. Ramius wanted to defect since the beginning of the story. He never changed his mind or his personality. Therefore, he is a staticcharacter.
ANTAGONISTS
Captain Tupelov:
Captain tupelov decends from aristocrats. He was a student of ramius, he has a very special place in ramius´s heart but he doesn´t have space for anyone inhis. In the movie, captain tupelov tries to fight ramius. When tupelov knew about ramius´s plan he started planning how to stop him. He wanted to sink the sumbmarine even though it meant risking...
