1– Interviewer: Uh, what do you like to do for fun? Joe: Uhm, that's a great question. I was just asking myself that the other day. Uhm, I really enjoy nature, uhm, going for drives, uh, in like, where the fall foliage is, or like hiking up in the mountains. Interviewer: Driving and walking? Joe: Yeah, hiking in the mountains, getting in touch withnature, and uh, I do, I love going to the movies, and basically the thing I like more than anything else is just sitting around with folks talking. That's what I like to do. 2– Interviewer: And what do you like to do for fun here in New York? Marsha: Uh, movies, uh, shows, uhm, bars. 3– Interviewer: Hi. Diane: Hi. Interviewer: What, what's your name? Diane: Diane. Interviewer: Diane what? Diane: Ican't tell you that. Interviewer: That's okay. And what are you doing out here on the street today? Diane: Uhm, actually going back to work. I was shopping in Saks Fifth Avenue. Interviewer: What did you go shopping for? Diane: I didn't really go to buy anything, but I looked around, and I saw a dress that was on sale, and it caught my eye, so I bought it. Interviewer: And so you bought it. Diane: SoI bought it. Interviewer: That's great. And, uh, do you live here in New York? Diane: Yes I do. Interviewer: Where do you live? Diane: I live on 68th Street. Interviewer: Okay, and what did you say you did? Did you say what you did for a living? Diane: No, I didn't say what I did. I'm in publishing. Interviewer: Great. Diane: Magazine publishing. Interviewer: And what do you like to do for fun inNew York? Diane: What do I like to do for fun in New York? I like to get out of New York. I like to go to the country.

4 – Robin (male Robin) Interviewer: What do you do?

Robin: What do I do? I basically, it's, I'm like a mailman, but I, I carry around a little computer thing, and I scan freight out, have people sign for it. You know, deliver like all paperwork, important documents, andstuff like that. Interviewer: Uh-huh. So what do you have in your box here? Robin: Oh, in here I have, I have all my building set up. This is how… I walk around with it, instead of carrying it all. I push a cart. Interviewer: Uh-huh. What do you like to do for fun? Robin: Uh, after work, I like to go home, relax, watch a little TV. When payday comes around on Friday, I like to go out and spend mymoney, you know, go out dancing or whatever.

Cathy: When you live in Manhattan, you leave, every weekend, when you can. Interviewer: And what are you going to do on your next holiday? Cathy: I'm not sure. I think on my next holiday I'll probably get married, and I'll be on my honeymoon.Interviewer: Congratulations. Cathy: Well, thank you. Interviewer: That's wonderful. When are you getting married? Cathy: Uh, we're planning September next year. Interviewer: Beautiful. And what do you like to do for fun? Cathy: I love to hike, I like to camp, I like to jog, I work out.

6– Interviewer: What do you like to do for fun? Mrs. Provenzano: What do I like… Oh, I love the opera. I love thetheatre.

7– Interviewer: What do you like to do for fun? Minda: Uh, I like to go to movies, concerts, uh, out to dinner, socialize with friends and family. 8– Interviewer: And what do you like to do for fun? Steven: Swim, swim and be outside. Anything outside.

9– Interviewer: Where are you from? Melisson: New York. Interviewer: And are you originally from New York as well? Julie: Yes.Interviewer: Yes? Julie: Yes. Interviewer: And what do you like to do for fun in New York? Melisson: Hmmm, well I like to go out dancing, and I like to, uh, go to auditions, and I like to, uhm, go out to eat, and stuff like that. 10 –
