Blue Orange: Waste & Water technologies venture (1/2)
Blue Orange is SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT’s corporateinvestment fund for new water and waste technologies. It will contribute to developing the community of firms and entrepreneurs that will meet the growing challenges of sustainable resource management. BlueOrange acts as a minority shareholder and industrial partner: starting from a capital stake our team nurture the commercial and industrial development of young companies that promote innovativetechnologies. With EUR 50 million over 10 years Blue Orange invests at seed, early and development stages with initial stake ranging from EUR 0.5 to 2 million and remains open to co-investment.

Two features make Blue Orange a special partner for entrepreneurs and co-investors:
−SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT’s worldwide network ofcutting-edge waste and water experts and scientists, and −The commercial and industrial exposure of the group’s activities in almost every region of the world.
Every other member of our projects-reviewcommittee is an executive manager and each start-up entering our portfolio gets sponsored by one of the Group’s field divisions to foster its development. Blue Orange benefits from the Group’s R&Dprogrammes (EUR 65 million spent in 2009) and especially the Innovation department’s partnership programme for industrial tests. SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT has over 65,000 employees and, with its presence on aglobal scale, is the world’s leader exclusively dedicated to environmental services. SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT, a GDF SUEZ affiliate, reported sales turnover of EUR 12.3 billion at the end of financial year2009.
