Mexicans have lived in the Pacific Northwest since the 1850s. They continued to come to the region for mining and ranching opportunities through the latter half of the nineteenth century. In the first two decades of the twentieth century, political and economic conditions in Mexico that resulted from revolution and the repressive policies of President Porfirio Diaz pushed many out of Mexico to gonorth. Agricultural and railroad expansion and labor shortages in the United States also pulled thousands of Mexicans from their homeland to the Southwest and to other regions of the United States. (American/Mexicans, Mexican/Americans, Meier)
Mexican American communities in the Columbia River Basin began to grow dramatically beginning in the early 1940s. World War II agricultural laborshortages drew more Mexican Americans and Mexican immigrants to the region. By the1960s small enclaves of families who decided to “settle out” of the migrant stream dotted rural communities in southwestern Idaho, the Treasure Valley in Oregon and Idaho, Willamette Valley in Oregon, and the Yakima Valley in Washington. In the last three decades of the twentieth century, a new migration wave from Mexicobrought thousands more to the region who joined their predecessors and helped create vibrant communities. Today Mexican Americans populate urban areas as well, as significant numbers have chosen to settle in Portland, Spokane, and Boise, and are counted among the 623,000 people of Mexican origin enumerated by the Census of 2000 in the states of Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. “Pasco Washington |Brief History, Demography, and Economy Information”
Many families that migrated to the Pasco area throughout the years from other countries such as Mexico, Honduras, Salvador, and Guatemala are here illegally and don’t have a Social Security in order to obtain different benefits or resources that Pasco and the State of Washington offers. Many Immigrants living around the tri-cities, especiallyPasco, don’t have the knowledge or information about the different types of resources that are available for them in this area. Our goal was to find different community resources that are available to individuals that don’t posses a social security or green cards, and to inform the community/class about the resources that our community offers to immigrants. It’s important for our community/class tohave knowledge about the different resources that Pasco has to offer for Immigrants; because there are many Latinos/Hispanics in this area that might have undocumented family members, and they can take advantage of the resources to succeed in life, have a better education, and a better job.

Methodology
We conducted our research mostly by visiting local facilities such as Hospitals, Schools,Apartments, and Houses gathering information through personal interviews with managers, counselors, principals, and secretaries/front desk attendants. At firsts we had decided to contact some facilities through phone calls, but they lacked a lot of information so we decided to do personal interviews instead. We divided our group into categories in which each group member had to visit a facilityeither hospitals, schools, apartments or any other facility that would offer any resources or services to immigrants without a social security number. Every person in our group chose to visit one or more facilities Daniel chose to visit schools, Pj chose DSHS, Andrea chose apartments and housing. Daniel decided to visit three different schools including an elementary school, a middle school, anda high school in order to find out the different programs and resources that schools have to offer immigrant students, and how they accommodate them if they don’t speak or understand English. PJ also visited DSHS (Department of Social and Health Services) to see the different resources that they offered and her son went undercover to see if they really did offered the services or they only...
