It’s important to help poor people and also to give them the tools that they need to get out of poverty and have a better life. A lot of people think been poor is based on the fact that far too many people are not able to access common or luxurious services. Reasons such as lack of transportation, illiteracy, lack of income and basic needs make it impossible for the poor to overcome barriers inorder to be successful in Ecuador. In my country many people discriminate others one who have different types of ethnic, racial or religious, backgrounds where that people live, then level of education by treating then differently in public assistance and even in the hospitals too. I think the best way to help the poor here is to give them a hand in taking away that social problem. I would like todo my best to make their lives a better one. It also helps them to know that someone really does care about them, by giving them the opportunities to improve themselves on their own; it will give them self-confidence, increase their self-esteem, and restore their self-respect in overcoming the barriers they face every day. I have some ideas of how to help the poor people in my country: try to makethem aware of their dignity, talk to them in the best way possible, give to poor people an opportunity to study at good schools and be friendly and kind with all of them.

We can help poor people in Ecuador in many different ways. Even the smallest effort counts and that can be achieved with the following steps: volunteer, donate and fundraise in the schools and churches. Volunteering is theeasiest way to give your time to another person in need. Donating money can be done comfortably in the churches since it is very common in our country, every penny counts. Fundraising can be challenging, but the reward in the end makes all the hard work worth it. In my city there is a foundation called “Movimiento de Vida Cristiana" or "MVC", I have a lot of friends that belong to this foundation, every weekend they go in the streets of Guayaquil to collect money for the poor children. The volunteers give their time to help the poor it does not cost any money. There are several organizations that receive funding to help the poor. In Ecuador there are several soup kitchens for example in Cuenca and Quito. Generally the catholic schools help the poor people as volunteer students, so I willtalk with the principal of my high school about joining my old classmates to found our soup kitchen on weekends. On the other hand, I will talk with my friends about creating the 'Big Brother' system. We can go to really poor places and befriend children who are alone and abandoned in order to teach and share our time with them. We can help serve meals at a soup kitchen, start a community gardengrowing vegetables and fruit that the poor can eat, be a big brother or sister at an orphanage in the more remote places, or we could tutor kids in homeless shelters and public schools, some organizations need long-term commitments. For example, if I am teaching a child like a mentor, it must be a long-term commitment because we are forming a relationship. My friends and I could form a foundationcalled "Hermano menor" will be a big family than helps orphans.
Another way I can help poor people is collecting making donations, to do this we should talk with the priests and think about what we have to do with the donations. Prepare you for yourself hard work. Fundraising is not easy. It takes a lot of dedication, time and passion. Fundraising can be done individually or in a group. I think asmaller group is better. The easiest way is to collect money by putting an amphora near to the checkout for people to put the shift of the sales into the boxes. Get more people involved for example: acquaintances, family, friends and teachers. Raise money by having typical dishes for sale. We will have to use our own money for buying cooking materials and we will need to make enough cooked goods...
