Getting to know myself

What makes me who I am

My name is Vincenzo Trunfio, but everyone calls me Enzo. I was born in Caracas, Venezuela on may 10th, 1998. My parents are Delia Marcacci Cammuso and Miguel Trunfio Tudisco. I believe my parents have been the greatest influence in my life since they are the ones who gave me all the education andmy moral values which I think are the most important things in life, because, without education you probably wont achieve anything in life and without moral values you shouldn’t be considered a person since this values, conscience and intelligence are what separate us humans from animals. My father, Miguel, was born in Caracas on October 8th, 1969. The most important thing he taught me was that ifI am going to do something, I have to do it right and I should like what I am doing to do it right. My mother, Delia, was born in Caracas on November 15, 1974. The most important lesson my mother taught me is that I should always listen to adults because they have more experience than I do. Something both of my parents taught me is that maturity is not being serious all the time, but being seriouswhen it is required. In other words, being mature is knowing how to behave according situation .

I have an Italian family so we are very close, since in Italian culture, family is the most important thing. I have a little sister who studies in 4th grade. Me and my cousins have been raised together as siblings. The are twins and they are two years younger than me. My cousins study in the sameschool I study in so we see each other almost every single day. On Sundays me an my family are accustomed to eat together or at least see each other.

The first school I studied in was the Instituto Escuela, I studied there until I was six years old, then I changed to the Simón Bolívar and I had to repeat a year because of my age. I have studied in the Simon Bolivar until now, what means, Ihave been studying there the majority of my life.

When I was little I always loved music, and even now I still listen to the music I used to listen when I was eight years old. Music has always been part of my life, I always wanted to learn how to play an instrument. One Christmas eve, when I was 10, I received a keyboard as a present, and that same year I went to my first piano lesson. Myteacher was called Maria Fernanda, she gave me classes in the Simón Boílvar School II. I received this lessons once a week every Thursday, but this only lasted a year because the teacher could not give me classes anymore. That year I didn’t received any particular music class apart from school’s, but the next year I entered to guitar lessons with the teacher Marian Pernías, the classes were also inthe school, I received my first guitar in the Christmas of that year. I studied guitar with Marian for two years until one day the teacher decided that I should move to a more advanced class, so I started to receive classes with teacher Miguel. I received classes with him for two years (until this year) but he moved to Canada so I had to change to an music academy in Alto Prado, the academy iscalled Garage Music and my new teacher’s name is Jeremy. In this time I received guitar lessons with Miguel I also received piano lessons from a woman called Joanin Rodriguez. Joanin went to my home every Tuesday to give me classes but it ended after a year due to a complication with her schedule. Now at days I am practicing both instruments, guitar in the academy and piano on my own. My parents havealways been supportive with my music studies as long as they don’t affect my grade at school.

Another thing that I have been doing since I have a memory is karate. I started when I was around 7 years old in the Instituto Escuela but when I was changed to Simón Bolívar School I started in ther with the Venezuela World Shotokan Karate-Do Federation with Sensei Fouad Korban but due to a...
